Adopting a Trauma Informed Environment

Over the 2 days, delegates will gain a theoretical understanding of trauma and how it impacts individuals in a range of ways, both physically and psychologically.  The course covers various different types of trauma and is tailored to your organisational requirements, for example co-morbidity with substance or alcohol use, mental health issues and/or abuse issues.

In addition to being introduced to a three-stage model of recovery from trauma, delegates will gain an understanding of the impact that trauma can have on themselves, and develop useful tools to support their ongoing practice and

Further, the training will prepare delegates to use an assessment tools that can support referral to specialist agencies supporting traumatised individuals.

Who Should attend:  Recovery Practitioners, Recovery Coaches, Children and Family Workers, Service Volunteers, Mentors, Senior Worker and Team Leaders delivering psycho-social or clinical interventions within integrated treatment services, criminal justice and family support settings.
